The man who attacked two police officers with an angle grinder and circular saw has been sentenced by a judge at Plymouth Crown Court.

Stephen Yabsley, of Retreat Close, Kingsbridge, attacked the officers at his flat in May last year.

The 54-year-old will be detained indefinitely at Broadmoor, a secure psychiatric hospital.

Judge Ian Lawrie QC commended the bravery of the two officers who were injured, PC Ryan Hayhurst and PC Jonathan Lonsdale.
