Dartmouth had a visit from the safety camera partnership as part of a two week crackdown on speeding motorists throughout Devon and Cornwall.

In just two hours the operator captured 84 people speeding up College Way.

Dartmouth Police said the highest speed recorded was 59mph and over ten of those caught were doing more than 50mph.

These people can expect a trip to the magistrates court and the rest will receive a fine in the post, explained the police.

The camera will be re-deployed in Dartmouth over the coming weeks.

Dartmouth Police added: “There is no excuse for driving at these speeds in a 30mph limit. Please slow down.”
