A 33-year-old man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a car fire last week.

Jason Pengelly, of Raleigh Road, Salcombe, appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 28. He was conditionally bailed to return to Plymouth Crown Court on Monday, July 30. The terms of his bail include a curfew and a residency condition.

Police and fire crews were called to Embankment Road, Kingsbridge, on the evening of Friday, June 22, where a car was on fire under flats at Crabshell Heights.
