A man was airlifted to hospital from the South West Coast Path near Beesands on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “Just before 1.30pm on Saturday, March 25, UK Coastguard received a report that a person required medical assistance at Beesands.

“The Prawle Coastguard Rescue Team and a helimed were sent to the scene and a casualty was airlifted to hospital.”

A spokesperson for the Devon Air Ambulance said: “The Exeter aircraft was deployed to near Kingsbridge at 1.17pm on Saturday for a cardiac-related incident.

“The aircraft flew the elderly gentleman to Derriford Hospital.”
