Four fire crews are battling a large barn fire in Yealmpton and warnings have been issued to people near by to close their windows against "toxic gas".

Watch Manager Simon Rule of Greenbank Fire Station told the BBC: "We’ve informed residents due to the amount of toxic smoke to close all windows."

Fire crews were called just before 9am and were on scene at the "well established fire" at 9.04am with five appliances.

Several gas cylinders and a diesel tank holding up to 500 litres caught fire in Yealmpton, according to Devon Fire and Rescue Service.
