Violent assault leaves holiday makers with broken bones.

In early July, two holidaymakers were assaulted in Dartmouth and the police is appealing for witnesses.

The incident took place on Market Street, Dartmouth, between 11pm on Friday, July 6, and 12.25am on Saturday July 7. The holidaymakers were on a golfing holiday when they were assaulted and left with a broken jaw and a broken nose.

Kingsbridge police said: “Following a minor altercation at a bar, two holiday makers were followed out of the bar and violently attacked by a group of unknown men.

“The first victim, a 54-year-old grandfather of four, was punched to the face causing a broken nose. His son a 28-year-old man, was attacked causing a broken jaw, for which he received hospital treatment.”

The police have said it believes a number of witnesses were present and would like to speak to anyone who may have information that can help enquiries.

“Anyone who was present or could offer further information about this incident is asked to contact the police on 101 or at [email protected] quoting the crime reference CR/060583/18.”
