Young people who damaged a flower bed in the town centre were put to work learning about the work that goes into the displays.

A Kingsbridge Police officer said: “Back in October a flower bed on the Town square was damaged by youths. The town CCTV was viewed and the offenders were identified who later admitted the offence and agreed to a community resolution.”

Starting early on Saturday, June 23, those responsible, under the supervision of investigating officer PCSO Ash Hawkes, helped Kingsbridge in Bloom water the various displays of plants and flowers around the town.

The officer continued: “They learned about the cost of running Kingsbridge in Bloom and how much time and work is involved in keeping the various flower displays maintained.

“The youths should be praised for their honesty and willingness to make amends within the community. They did a very good job this morning.”
