The Marine Awareness Day will be held on Whitestrand in Salcombe, with emergency services giving advice on how to stay safe near our coasts.

The event, which will take place on Wednesday, April 4, between 10am and 4pm, will include crime prevention advice by Salcombe neighbourhood policing team and the Harbour Authority.

Salcombe Fire Station will be there with their display and fire engine, community first responders will be offering first aid advice with display of CPR, the Marine Management Organisation offering advice on fishing and laws within the waters and the Association of Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities.

Salcombe RNLI will have their inshore lifeboat on display and will be offering advice, as will HM Coastguard and hopefully the RNLI Lifeguards.

Lifejackets can have their annual check performed by Ali from Sea n Shore, the police dive team will be there displaying their boats and offering advice and UK Border Force will be promoting their current operations Kraken and Pegasus.
