Police are investigation an allegation of assault which left a 50-year-old man seriously injured in Dartmouth on Friday night.

Officers responded to 999 calls to attend College Way at the junction with Townstal Road where a man was being beaten on June 14 at around 9.30pm.

The man, who lives in Dartmouth, was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.

A 33-year-old man, also of Dartmouth, was arrested and charged with causing GBH.

He has been released on police bail until July 11.

A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating an allegation of assault after a man was beaten in Dartmouth.

“The male is currently in hospital with serious injuries and a 33-year-old male is in custody for causing grevious bodily harm.”
