An air ambulance, from its base at Eaglescott airbase in North Devon, landed at Coronation Park at around 5pm Wednesday, July 4th. Piloted by Tony Stevens (ex-BRNC), the air ambulance was tasked with the collection of an elderly male suffering from chest pains. The patient was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

Approximately an hour later, another air ambulance, from Exeter, landed in Kingswear. A tractor had overturned on Upper Wood Lane in Kingswear and the driver had suffered serious injuries. The accident required the attendance of two Dartmouth fire engines and one from Brixham.

The fire officers assisted paramedics from South West Ambulance to remove the driver who was flown to Derriford Hospital.
