Simon Henderson, of Woodleigh, near Kingsbridge, writes:

On Wednesday last week I was rushed into Torbay Hospital by ambulance in the early morning. I'd had a heart attack.

I have to say thank you to Rob and Paula, the ambulance paramedics, the operating team at Torbay and the staff on the coronary care unit.

By 8.30am I was comfortable in hospital, surrounded by very efficient, cheerful people who really give you back your confidence. The food was good and regular cups of tea were available.

I was released back home on Saturday, so I can prove that rumours of my early demise are completely false. You won't get rid of me that easily.

So many people have popped in to help: Lee Bateman, Mike and Lesley Hemsbrough and Roger Pinder. The dog has never walked so far.

Thank you to everyone who helped and are still helping.

It's good to be alive.
