In this week’s Ivybridge & South Brent Gazette, we lead on a story about South Hams District Council releasing more than £500,000 in Section 106 funds.

Ivybridge, Ermington and Modbury will be receiving a big chunk of the funds - over £370,000 of it.

A Section 106 agreement is a legal agreement between local authorities and developers either for new facilities or the improvement of existing facilities in an area where a development is taking place.

The picture story is of South Brent Amateur Dramatics’ latest pantomime, an adaptation of the Russian fairytale, the Firebird.

Inside we have a follow up story after more plastic Otrivin bottles have been washing up on our beaches. We speak to Professor Richard Thompson, who is one of the world’s leading experts in marine pollution and the first person to coin the term ’microplastics’.

As always, we feature information about ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ all inside.

Remember if you can’t get to the shops, or you have moved out of the area, you can get all South Hams Newspapers online here: www.southhams-today.co.uk/subscribe.cfm.
