IVY U11s travelled to Exeter Chiefs for the Land Rover Cup, keen to build on their achievements in last weekend's festival and with aspirations to make it to the latter stages of the competition.

First up were Sidmouth. Ivy started very positively, taking the game into Sidmouth's half right from the off.

They kept up consistent pressure on the opposition's line and were eventually rewarded with the first try of the game.

Sidmouth fought back valiantly and it wasn't until just before the final whistle the Greens managed to drive Joe over for the second try. Their final pool game was a repeat of the Greens' final competition game last weekend.

But if they were expecting Exeter Saracens to let them run rampant again, they soon found out that they were mistaken.

Sarries had clearly upped their game and, despite Ivy having most of the territory, as well as having their scrum back on track, crossing the line was proving challenging due some gritty defence from the Sarries.

Ivy managed to score only twice and then there followed a nail-biting wait to see if Taunton could rack up 15 or more points against Sidmouth and ensure a progression to the next stage on the most tries scored.

In the end, a 10-0 win for Taunton was not enough and Ivy went on to face Exeter Chiefs in the semis.

With the score at 5-5, Chiefs progressed to the final as they had scored the first try. Overall winners were Redruth, who were the first to score in a tight, 5-5 final. Despite not making the final, Ivy came away undefeated, with two wins and two draws.
