I am writing about something in last week’s Chronicle that a lot of people in Townstal, including myself, found deeply offensive: the director of estates for the NHS Lesley Darke implying that Townstal is a deprived part of Dartmouth.

This person would not have the nerve to say this to anyone who has always lived here.

Does she mean deprived because most people here look out for each other and are mostly good neighbours?

After all, Townstal was here long before the town.

She should get her facts straight before she opens her mouth.
