Bill Hunt said: “I am delighted to announce that after a difficult search since last Christmas we have found a solution to our storage problem. One of my customers has generously allowed us to use the large space, free of charge.

“We will probably build a polythene tent inside for the costumes and erect our scaffolding and rails that are currently on the Flavel Church balcony. This space is at Old Mill, near Dartmouth and has good vehicle access plus lighting.

“We will be rehearsing in the Townstal Community Hall and also storing some props and electrical equipment there. There is a big and somewhat complex move ahead of us and I will send out request for help soon.

“This is a big breakthrough for the group. It would have been difficult to see how we could go on without our costume and prop store. Thankfully we are now on track again.

“Don’t forget we need a lot more people for Dick Whittington. You can register your interest through the website.

“We plan to move all the costumes and props out of the Flavel Church, next Saturday, August 5th, 2017, between 9:00 am and 5:00pm if possible.

“As you can see from the picture we have already made a start. We are buying new mobile rails and plastic boxes and aim to do quite a bit of sorting as well. After taking all the stock out I will dismantle the existing structure during the next few weeks, aiming to be fully out by the end of August, before panto rehearsals start.

“What we need is volunteers to help with this task on Saturday. The weather looks reasonable. Please help if at all possible, even for a short time. This is a big task but “many hand make light work”. Last time we moved we had a good turn out and it all went smoothly.

“We are holding a fete with the tea hut on Thursday, August 17th, we urgently require more helpers for this event. Please contact me if you can spare some time on that day to man a bric-a-brac stall or help in the tea hut. Even if you can’t help, come along for a coffee.

“We are hoping to raise money for a second floor at the Townstal Community Hall which could be a permanent home for our costume/props.”
