JOHN TAYLOR, of Kenilworth, Warwickshire, writes:

In response to Gary Edgecombe’s ‘grockle’ letter, Gazette, April 8, I would like

to say that I remember Mr Edgecombe’s lovely family from years gone by, who welcomed guests and tourists to Salcombe, ie the so-called ‘grockles’, who brought much-needed money into Salcombe.

Salcombe is no longer just a fishing village, it is a beautiful town to be enjoyed by the populace. Basically, if you don’t want financial assistance from visitors to survive, why don’t you move to Kingsbridge or Dartmouth?

Your ‘just a thought’, Mr Edgecombe, doesn’t make any human sense, does it? I suggest you ‘just think twice’ next time.
