The Bishop of Plymouth visited a South Hams charity in Ivybridge last week.

The Right Reverend Nick McKinley visited Hannahs students in Ivybridge to find out about their lives and the range of diverse activities that they take part in.

Bishop Nick, as he is known, spent 18 years as Rector of St Andrews Church in Plymouth followed by a couple of years as Bishop of Crediton before becoming Bishop of Plymouth.

Following his visit to Hannahs he said: “May I thank everyone for the warm welcome that I received at Dame Hannahs and for the time that they gave to make my visit an enjoyable and informative occasion. It is clearly an inspiring organisation and I have been telling everybody about it ever since”.

The visit was organised by Mary Watts, chairman of Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group, who said: “We had been looking forward to Bishop Nick’s visit for several weeks. Everyone so appreciated his finding time and energy in his busy schedule to come and visit our wonderful young people.

She continued: “It was a huge privilege and a great treat for everyone at Hannahs to meet and share time with him. Equally we hope he was truly inspired with and has a greater understanding of all the amazing work we do at Hannahs”.
